Japanese Trapdoor

The Japanese trapdoor algae eating pond snail is preferred by many people all over the world.
They are very hardy and can survive severe winters and freezing ponds, if you get the right mix they will breed.
They bring many assets to your pond by eating the much dreaded Algae and help to keep it under control; they will clean up plants, pots and walls, even fish food and decaying leaves etc that collects on the bottom.
Don’t be surprised if once you put them in your pond you hardly ever see them again, they are very small and the same colour as rocks and liners, they just get on with their work day in day out.
