The Golden Orfe is a favourite for anyone who has a pond, because they like to swim in shoals.
It’s always better to have at least six or more, this in turn means they are better for the bigger size ponds which give them more space.
They can grow up to 30cm long or more and spend a lot of time on the surface of the pond.
This can make them vunerable to predators, a little protection from birds and cats is advised.

The Rudd is very similar in many ways to the Golden Orfe, apart from its size.
It will only grow to about half the size, and this makes them a better alternative for the smaller ponds.
Being a hardy fish they will tolerate any elements the weather brings.
